At the May 28, 2024 City Council meeting, the City Council adopted Resolution No. R24-21 approving GPA-001-24, General Plan Amendment for the sixth cycle 2021-2029 Housing Element, amending the Housing Element of the City of Palos Verdes Estates General Plan. Click here to view the document.

The public hearing of the updated Draft Housing Element went before the Planning Commission on May 21, 2024 and City Council on May 28, 2024.

2024

June 29: HCD preliminarily certifies the City’s 2021-2029 Housing Element as being in substantial compliance with State Housing Law pending the necessary rezoning for the Housing Element inventory sites. Click here to view the preliminary certification.

May 29: Adopted 2021-2029 Housing Element sent to State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) for preliminary certification. Click here to view the adopted Housing Element.

May 28: City Council adopted Resolution No. R24-021 approving the amendment for the 2021-2029 Housing Element. Click here to view the document.

May 21: Planning Commission adopted Resolution No. PCR-2024-014 recommending that the City Council approve the amendments to the 2021-2029 Housing Element. Click here to view the document.

December 6 – January 12, 2022: Staff reviews and incorporates HCD’s comments.

January 13: First Draft posted on the City website for public review.

January 18: Planning Commission hearing to recommend adoption of First Draft.

January 25: City Council hearing to formally adopt First Draft.
