The City’s Investment Policy Advisory Committee consists of:
- The City Treasurer, who serves as the Committee’s chairperson.
- Four members of the public appointed by the City Council to staggered 2-year terms.
- One ex-officio, non-voting member who is the City Manager or City Manager’s designee.
The City’s Investment Policy Advisory Committee acts in an advisory capacity in all matters of investments and banking, including policy and procedures. At the direction of the City Council, the Committee may initiate studies, evaluations or reviews, and make recommendations. The Committee further may advise and assist the City Council and City Treasurer on any issue which relates to investment and banking matters.
Applications: While there is no specific requirement for a personal background in investments, banking/finance, or municipal service, applicants should have a general familiarity with business and financial concepts, and a desire to learn.
Meetings:
The Investment Policy Advisory Committee generally meets the third Tuesday following Fiscal Quarter End at 4:00 p.m., except when the meeting is canceled due to a lack of a quorum. The Committee may meet more frequently, as needed, as dictated by special projects or financial market conditions.
Meetings topics may include:
- Review of the City’s Investment Policy.
- Review of the City’s Investment Portfolio, including compliance and performance.
- Review Quarterly or Annual Investment Reports.
- Review and recommendation of banking service providers, brokers, or investment fund managers.
- Discussion of financial markets and investment strategy.
