In Palos Verdes Estates, the role of the Finance Advisory Committee is threefold:

To provide input and recommendations to City Council regarding budget reconciliation, including actual revenues and expenses at the departmental level.
To consult and work with staff in the preparation of long-range financial planning forecasts.
To advise and assist City Council on fiscal liability matters facing the City and other fiscal matters referred to the Finance Advisory Committee. (Ord. 727 § 1, 2018).

Finance Advisory Committee Meetings

The Finance Advisory Committee is comprised of five City residents appointed by the City Council and City Treasurer, who shall serve as an ex-officio, non-voting member. Committee members serve staggered terms. Members of the Finance Advisory Committee bring expertise in financial advisement and planning to public as well as private agencies, including Fortune 500 companies.

The Finance Advisory Committee meets every other month on the third Wednesday of even-numbered months at 6:00 p.m., except when the meeting is canceled due to lack of a quorum or agenda items.
