PVEPD K-9 Service Dog "Lobo" Retires

Effective September 4, 2017, Palos Verdes Estates Police K-9 Lobo will retire from the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department after nearly seven years of service.

Lobo began his service with the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department in 2010 and his handler is Officer Cecilia Williford. He received training as a search dog for tracking, locating suspected criminals, and for narcotic detection.

During his tenure, Lobo has contributed greatly to the community by engaging in numerous searches over the span of his service to the Department. These include both local and mutual aid requests. Active searches for suspects have occurred throughout the City, including instances where suspects have been apprehended.

In retirement, Lobo will live with his handler Officer Cecilia Williford.
