Potential Traffic Impact: Traffic Striping Project - August 2017

Post Date:08/01/2017 8:01 PM

 08/09/17 UPDATE:

A public works contract to install/modify traffic striping will continue on through Friday, August 11th. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the project was not completed on August 9th as originally planned.  The City’s contractor is Sterndahl Enterprises.  Work is as follows:

Thursday, August 10 and Friday, August 11, beginning at 7 am:

Striping, repainting and modifications on

--Palos Verdes Drive West (Via Chico to Paseo Del Mar)
Traffic delays can be expected; please use alternate routes.

•             Modify the existing southbound right edge line marking and striping by removing the white reflective raised pavement markers and restripe the edge line from the current 4-inch white line to a 6-inch wide line to increase its visibility;

•             Install white 45-degreee diagonal lines in the parking area between the edge line and the curb to better demarcate that the area. In the tighter curved areas, the diagonal lines will be spaced closer together to highlight the change in the roadway alignment. In addition, the existing double yellow centerline will be repainted and supplemented with additional reflective yellow raised pavement markers; and

•             Striping between Via Chico and Via Del Puente on PVDW will be rehabilitated only.

•             Residents will have access to driveways but will not be able to park on the street.

--Striping on Tyburn Road, Via Guadalana and Via Zumaya was completed this week.
