LACoFD to Conduct Wildland Training Exercise 3/27, 3/28, and 3/30
The Los Angeles County Fire Department will be conducting a Wildland Training Exercise. It will include many fire engines and firefighters. They will be conducting training simulations on the things that they do during wildland fires.
This includes: fire engine operations, fire shelter deployment, wildland urban interface terminology, communications, progressive hose lays, and structure defense tactical considerations. It will start with a one hour didactic presentation and then follow with three hours of hands-on training.
- WHEN: There will be three days of training, March 27th, 28th, 30th, 9am-1pm each day.
- WHERE: The hands-on component is planned for the intersection of Paseo Lunado and Via Rivera.
- WHO: The training will include fire engines from our department and our regional training partners (L.A. City Fire, Long Beach Fire, the fire departments in the beach cities, etc.).
**Sirens will not be used during this drill. If an emergency vehicle is using its siren during this time frame, the emergency vehicle is responding to an emergency and motorists must yield to the emergency vehicle.
